Walking through our history with Congressman Steve Womack

A Moment of Transformation

When Congressman Steve Womack visited Kiefer Sage, he saw more than a facility in his hometown of Rogers; he saw people, purpose, and progress. Walking through our operations, he shared words that reflect the heart of our story.

“First of all, it's a great day in Rogers, Arkansas to be able to see this beautiful facility, workers producing very important products for our country right here in my hometown,” Womack said. “A company that I'm quite familiar with, with decades of service to the greater economy here with legendary items – Jotto Desk, Martcart, and now Spraymaster. The future looks so good here.”

For us, his visit was a reminder that our work doesn’t just build products, it builds opportunity, pride, and impact that reaches far beyond our walls.

Our Story: From a Grandmother’s Need to Global Impact

Kiefer Sage began with a simple need close to home. In 1983, founder Bill Sage wanted his grandmother to shop with independence. That desire led to the creation of the world’s first electric shopping scooter: Martcart™.

Martcart did more than change a family shopping trip. It made everyday independence possible for millions of people across the country and around the world. That spirit of empathy-driven invention has guided us ever since.

With Spraymaster™, we gave convenience stores, grocery stores, restaurants, zoos, and organizations like NASA a reliable way to keep their spaces clean and safe. With Jotto Desk™, we introduced the first mobile office for law enforcement, a tool that grew into a leader in total vehicle outfitting solutions trusted by first responders.

Each innovation started with a single, overlooked need and grew into an industry-shaping solution.

Why We Exist: Serving the Overlooked and Underserved

Too often, markets and communities are left out of progress. They make do with generic tools, makeshift workarounds, or nothing at all. At Kiefer Sage, we believe that isn’t acceptable.

Our purpose is to build solutions with empathy at the center. We ask the question: Who’s being overlooked, and how can we build something for them?

That purpose shows up in our products, but also in the way we are committed to developing our people. We want every employee to leave Kiefer Sage better equipped than when they arrived; more skilled, more confident, and ready to lead.

Congressman Womack saw that connection between our people and our impact during his visit:

“What I really appreciate more than anything is the quality of the employees that are out there on the floor doing this work, the conditions under which they work, and the contributions that they are making to the greater Rogers and Northwest Arkansas economy and indeed the world.”

A New Chapter: One Campus, One Future

Bringing our teams together under one roof in Rogers has marked a turning point for Kiefer Sage. With 150 employees now working side by side, collaboration flows faster, ideas move more freely, and innovation has room to thrive.

The move also means measurable gains: a 42% reduction in utility expenses, 4,000 fewer truck milesdriven annually, and a consolidated footprint that prepares us for long-term growth.

Alongside this new chapter, we’ve expanded our reach with co-assembly services under our former name, Assembled Products. By leveraging our decades of manufacturing expertise, we help other companies build their products in the U.S. supporting innovation while strengthening local jobs.

The Community’s Role: Partners in Progress

Kiefer Sage has always been proud to call Rogers home. From our earliest days to today, our company has grown alongside the community that surrounds us. Congressman Womack’s words reflected that shared journey:

“This is an American story here that is unfolding and I'm just so pleased that it's right here in the middle of the town where I've been a mayor and now I've lived for all these years and see the results of some of the great work that we've been fortunate to be a part of.”

His perspective captures what makes this moment so meaningful. Our work is rooted here, but its impact reaches far beyond Arkansas. From Martcart in household name retail stores, to Jotto in first responder vehicles, to Spraymaster inside and outside some of the most recognizable spaces in our country, our solutions carry a piece of Rogers with them wherever they go.

Looking Ahead: Building Innovators and Leaders

Our name, Kiefer Sage, carries both legacy and responsibility. It reflects where we came from, but also who we strive to be: builders of products and of people.

Under President Erin Kiefer’s leadership, we remain committed to ensuring employees grow into leaders. And with new leadership talent joining the team in recent years, we are preparing for the next generation of innovation rooted in the same empathy and curiosity that sparked Martcart four decades ago.

For us, the future is not only about new solutions – it’s about cultivating innovators who will carry our mission forward.

Congressman Womack closed his visit with congratulations and encouragement:

“Congratulations to Kiefer Sage and Assembled Products and continued best wishes. Good luck in the future.”

For us, the future means continuing to ask the hard questions. Who is being overlooked? Who needs a better tool? Who deserves a solution designed with them in mind?

At Kiefer Sage, we don’t just build products. We build solutions that matter for the overlooked, for the underserved, and for the everyday heroes. That’s how we honor our past. That’s how we build our future.
